Yosemite National Park may be my favorite place on earth.
Despite its beauty, its grandeur makes it one of the most difficult places to capture in a photograph. How does one convey the feeling of standing beneath a 3000 foot stone Monolith in a 4x6 frame that people will likely view on their phones?
It turns out, never in the way you think. The shots that I like the most are not the classic ones. They're these: El Capitan in the moonlight, the trunk of Grizzly Giant, neglecting  the rest of the tree, and half dome beneath the cosmos. I hope these evoke in you what they evoked in me when I stood there.
